SALEM, OR — After running the sixth fastest time ever for Division III in the 800 meters, Bearcat Nick Symmonds
has been named the Northwest Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week.

Symmonds bested a field of Division I runners and set a new Willamette record as he raced to a 1:48.92 time in the 800 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays in California last weekend.

The Bearcats are preparing for this week’s Northwest Conference Championships to be held on the campus of Linfield College.

Other Bearcats earning honorable mention this week included Shannon McGrane (track), Ken Halpin (baseball) and Zach VandeGriend (baseball).
