Wildcats Take Three For The Weekend
SALEM, OR- It was a rainy weekend for Willamette baseball as the Linfield Wildcats took their third victory Sunday afternoon, 9-4. The Bearcats lowered their record to 10-14 overall and 6-9 in the Northwest Conference. Linfield improved to 20-5 overall and 10-2 NWC.
Designated hitter John Dailey and first baseman Brian Baker sent two over the fence for a Linfield homer. Dailey went 2-5 for the day, adding a double, two runs, and an RBI.
Shortstop Grant Boustead hit 4-5, with one run, one RBI, and two stolen bases for the Wildcats. Second baseman Brice Ott hit 3-5 recording a double, a run, an RBI, and two stolen bases.
For the Bearcats, second baseman Matt Johnson hit 4-4. Senior Ken Halpin went 1-3 with three runs.
Linfield out-hit Willamette 14-6.
Brant Shilliam picked up his sixth win for the Wildcats. Kyffin Marcum recorded his third save.
Jeff Jensen picked up the loss for the Bearcats, dropping his record to 4-3.
Willamette returns Tuesday, April 5, for a 3pm start against Western Baptist College.
