Women's Crew Rows To A Fourth Place Finish
PHILADELPHIA, PA- The Willamette University women’s varsity lightweight four, raced to a fourth place finish in the finals at the Dad Vail Regatta Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats were led by senior coxswain Laura Schick (pictured left), junior stroke Erin Stone, junior three seat Lindsey Young, sophomore two seat Kimberly Grady, and junior bow Melissa Rucker.
Willamette finished in a time of 8:34.91, 12 seconds shy of the first place boat.
North Western’s 8:22.83 race put them in first, followed closely by Jacksonville with 8:23.46.
Other teams competing in the final race were Carnegie Mellon (8:27.32) who placed third, Willamette with fourth, Georgia Tech (8:42.98) and Pitt (8:47.59) who finished fifth and sixth.
Over 100 colleges and universities from the U.S. and Canada compete at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. The Dad Vail Regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in the country.
