Tenold Tallies Twice As Bearcat Women Beat Corban 3-1
SALEM, OR — Allie Tenold scored a pair of first half goals and Laura Uhlmansiek added three assists as the Willamette University Bearcats beat cross-town rival Corban College, 3-1 in a non-conference women’s soccer game Saturday night at Sparks Field.
Tenold (pictured left) tallied her two goals just three minutes apart. She scored in the 19th minute when Uhlmansiek forwarded the ball to Rachel Clevenger who passed it on to Tenold for the score.
Tenold scored again in the 22nd minute off a cross from Uhlmansiek.
Brenna Hindman gave the Bearcats a 3-0 lead in the 72nd minute. Uhlmansiek’s corner kick went to Susan Butler who crossed it to Hindman for the goal.
Allison Buswell got Corban’s lone goal in the 77th minute off an assist from Sarah Officer.
Willamette out shot Corban 23-7. Kari Woody had five saves for Willamette. Kim Mendenhall and Karyn Allen combined for nine saves in the nets for Corban.
The Bearcats head into conference play next weekend with a 2-2 record. The Warriors are now 1-3-1.
