Butler's Goal Gives Bearcats Another 1-0 Win
FOREST GROVE - Susan Butler's strike from close range in the 71st minute was all that Willamette needed Sunday for a 1-0 victory over Pacific in Northwest Conference women's soccer action at Tom Reynolds Field.
Butler (pictured left) was one of three players parked in front of the Boxer net after Brenna Hindman played the ball to within close range. Butler managed to pull the ball from the scrum and put it past Pacific goalie Shannon Tillman for the game-winner.
The goal came in an out-of-balance second half that saw Willamette(7-3-1, 5-2-1 NWC) outshoot the Boxers 9-2. The Bearcats out-shot the Boxers 12-7 for the match and held a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks.
