Bearcats Fall to Whitworth Despite Wins By Otawa and Gima
SPOKANE, WA — Kei Otawa and Shannon Gima both posted first place
finishes, but it wasn't enough as both the Bearcat men and women
swim teams lost a dual meet to the Whitworth Pirates Saturday
afternoon in Spokane.
Gima (pictured left) won the 200 baskstroke for the Bearcat women,
but Willamette fell 106-82 in the dual meet.
Otawa won his fourth race in two days, taking first in the 50-freestyle with a time of 22:21. He also finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:18.05). The Whitworth men defeated the Bearcats 128-46 in the dual meet.
The Bearcats return home to swim against UPS and Pacific Monday afternoon.
