Arnall's 31 Points Leads Boxers Past Bearcats
SALEM, OR — DeeDee Arnall scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Pacific past host Willamette University 65-58 at Cone Field House in a Northwest Conference matchup.
The Bearcats (5-16, 0-13 NWC) sprinted to a 9-2 lead in the early moments of the game. Willamette senior Caitlin Andrus, sidelined in January with a torn ACL, made a ceremonial start in her final home game and scored on her only field goal attempt to give the Bearcat a 3-0 lead.
Arnall scored 20 of her game-high 31 points before the half as Pacific (7-15, 2-11 NWC) took a 31-23 lead into the break.
Willamette closed to within three points midway through the second half at 41-38, but could not get any closer.
The Bearcats were led by Jennifer Bell’s 13 points while Sara Brooks scored 12 points and Laura Payne added 10.
Bell and Andrus, the lone seniors on the roster, were honored in a pre-game ceremony marking their final home game.
Pacific next hosts Lewis & Clark Saturday night while Willamette travels to Linfield.
