Bearcat Men Fall to UPS in Season Opener

SALEM, OR — After dropping the first three doubles matches, the Willamette University men’s tennis team had a chance to come back in singles, but lost some close matches against UPS as the Bearcats opened their season with a 8-1 loss Friday night at the Courthouse Tennis Center.

Eric MacMillan posted the only win for the Bearcats, taking the No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-7 (10-8). In other singles matches, Shaun Mihalik, Alex Sepenzis and Dave Reichert all lost 3-set matches.

The Bearcats continue their season Saturday as they host PLU at the Courthouse beginning at 4 p.m.
