Bearcats Lose Two Road Matches To Open NWC Season; Women Play at Home This weekend
Tiffany Kam won the No. 1 singles match and teamed with Elise Helvie to win at No. 3 doubles, but the Bearcats fell just short in losing to PLU, 5-4, last weekend at Pacific Lutheran University.
The Bearcats also dropped an 8-1 decision to UPS to open the NWC schedule on Friday. Alaine Anderson picked up the sole Bearcat victory, winning the No. 2 singles match 4-6, 6-4 (10-3).
Other winners in the PLU match included Hannah Johnson at No. 3 singles (6-4, 2-6, 6-4), and Meg Gilbert at No. 5 singles (6-3, 1-6, 6-4)
Willamette plays at home this weekend, hosting George Fox on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Courthouse and Saturday at 5:30 versus Lewis & Clark, also at the Courthouse.
