Defending NWC Champs Knock Off Bearcats

SALEM, OR — The defending Northwest Conference champion, Pacific Lutheran University, showed their strength and depth Saturday as they defeated the Willamette University men’s tennis team 9-0 in a match at the Courthouse Tennis Center.

Shaun Mihalik and Eric MacMillan, playing at No. 1 doubles, lost an 8-4 decision to David Miller and Justin Larrimore. The two Lute players also posted wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles with straight set victories.

In singles, Alex Sepenzis has the best chance at a Bearcat win, but fell in three sets to John Demars, 2-6, 6-3, (10-7).

The Bearcats fall to 0-2 on the season.
