Olinger, Stuvland Earn All NWC First Team Honors

As the Bearcats ready to play Whitworth Thursday night in the first round of the NWC playoffs, the Northwest Conference announced that John Olinger and CJ Stuvland have both been named to the All-NWC First Team.

Olinger, who battled Whitworth’s Lance Pecht for Player of the Year Honors, ended the season as the third leading scorer in the NWC at 17.8 points per game. The senior co-captain also ranked in the top ten in field goal percentage, assist/turnover ratio, free throw percentage and steals, along with finishing No. 14 in the conference in rebounding.

Stuvland, a junior who was honorable mention All-NWC last season, was one of the league’s most prolific 3-point shooters and finished No. 8 in the conference in scoring with a 15.3 ppg average.

The Bearcats play Whitworth Thursday night at 7 p.m. Bearcat fans can listen live to the game via internet or on radio station KBZY. The winner of tonight’s game plays Saturday at UPS for an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III championship tournament.
