Willamette Rallies To Defeat Lewis and Clark in Men's Tennis

PORTLAND, OR — Willamette won five of six singles matches to take a come-from-behind 5-2 victory over Lewis and Clark in a Northwest Conference men’s tennis match Saturday afternoon in Portland.

The win gives the Bearcats a 1-3 record and the first victory for new Head Coach Jon Endrikat.

After losing all three doubles matches and the No. 2 singles match where LC's Luke Wheeler defeated Jeff Garrison 6-3, 6-1, the Bearcats began their comeback.

Eric MacMillan came from a set down to defeat Satoshi Goda at No. 1 singles 1-6, 6-0, 6-2. Fitz Paccione got a big win at No. 3 singles, defeating Jereon Hopster 6-4, 6-2.

Shaun Mihalik continued the Bearcat surge, winning over Yuichiro Yano 6-1, 6-0.

Dave Reichert and Alex Sepenzis completed the victory with wins at No. 5 nd No. 6 singles. Reichert defeated Tom Youmans 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 and Sepenzis won over Joey Braman 6-2, 6-2.
