Bearcat Men Fall to UPS Despite Two Wins from Eric MacMillan

TACOMA, WA - Eric MacMillan won at No. 1 singles and teamed with Shaun Mihalik to win at No. 1 doubles, but the Willamette University men's tennis team fell short of an upset bid over UPS, dropping a 4-3 decision Saturday to the Loggers.

Fitz Paccione and Alex Sepenzis won at No. 3 doubles, 8-6, to give the Bearcats the doubles point. But UPS won four straight singles matches after MacMillan's 7-6, 6-4 win over Andrew Neal.

Geoff Klein got the Bearcats' final win with a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 win over Andrew Oates.

Drew Gemmer defeated Sepenzis 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in another close match, while Mihalik fell 7-6, 6-1, David Reichert lost 6-4, 6-0 and Paccione lost 6-2, 6-2.
