Ben Bryant Wins Prestigious Kemper Scholarship

Golfer Ben Bryant has been selected as Willamette University’s second Kemper Scholar. Bryant, a freshman from Albany, OR and West Albany High School, is the No. 1 ranked golfer on this year’s team, according to Coach Steve Prothero.

Sponsored by the James S. Kemper Foundation of Chicago, Illinois, the Kemper Scholar Program prepares students for leadership and service, especially in the fields of administration and business.

Only fifteen small colleges are allowed to nominate students for the scholarship, which includes funds for tuition and books, two paid internships, and ongoing mentoring. Bryant plans to go into public administration.
