Loggers Defeat Bearcats, 8-1, in Women's Tennis

SALEM, OR - The University of Puget Sound women's tennis team remained in second place in the Northwest Conference with an 8-1 victory over Willamette University Friday at the Courthouse Athletic Club in Salem.

The Loggers swept through the three doubles matches. Only a victory at No. 2 singles by Hannah Johnson averted the shutout for the Loggers. Johnson defeated Melissa Snyder 3-6, 6-2, (10-7).

UPS got singles victories from Molly Clevenger, Alyssa Sidoff, Katie Schultz , Katie Russel and Alana Wong.

Sidoff and Snyder also won at No. 1 doubles, defeating Johnson and Tiffany Kam, 8-6.

The Loggers are 9-1 overall and in conference. Willamette falls to 4-8 overall, 3-7 NWC.
