Bearcats in Third After First Day of NWC Championships; Ueno Second in Individual Competition

SISTERS, OR - Whitney Ueno is in second place in the individual competition at the Northwest Conference Golf championships being played at Aspen Lakes in Sisters. The Bearcats, led by Ueno's 79 and an 86 by May Ushikubo, are in third place overall.
Pacific leads the tournament with a team score of 338. PLU is second with 364 and the Bearcats are third, just one stroke back.

Pacific's Molly Lindbloom shot the low round of the day with a 77. Ueno shot nines of 39-40 for her 79. Leslie Wheeler of Linfield is in third with an 82. Ushikubo shot nines of 41-45-86, good for a tie for fifth place.

Also for the Bearcats, Ashley Buchheit shot 99, Michelle Benrath fired a 101 and Andrea Hand shot 111.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
