Bearcats Fall to Whitworth in Women's Tennis

SPOKANE, WA - Wins by the Bearcats' top three singles were not enough as the Whitworth Pirates beat the Willamette University tennis team 6-3 in a Northwest Conference match Friday afternoon.

After Whitworth swept the three doubles matches, the Bearcats came right back in the opening singles matches.

Tiffany Kam defeated Jamie Kneese 7-6, 6-0. Hannah Johnson won a three-set match against Linh Aven (scores not available) and Alaine Anderson defeated Taryn Smith 6-3, 6-1.

Whitworth won the final three singles matches, including Rachel McCoola's three set win over Becca Younger, 1-6, 6-2 (10-6).

The Bearcats travel to Whitman in their final match before the NWC tennis championships in Yakima on April 22-23.
