Willamette Goes 2-0 on First Day at Pacific Coast Classic

POMONA, CA -- In women's volleyball on Friday, Sept. 8, Willamette University won both of its matches at the Pacific Coast Classic, hosted by Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Statistics are not available at this time.

Willamette defeated Whittier College, 3-1, to open the tournament. The Bearcats won 28-30, 30-22, 30-28, 30-25.

In Willamette's second match of the day, the Bearcats defeated Clarmont-Mudd-Scripps in five games, winning 30-27, 30-24, 28-30, 30-32, 15-12. It was Willamette's first 5-game match of the season.

The Bearcats are now 3-4 overall and have won 3 of their last 4 matches.
WU is 2-0 in the Pacific Coast Classic, which will conclude with the second day of action on Saturday, Sept. 9. On Saturday, WU will play Pomona-Pitzer at 11:15 a.m. (PDT) and will take on the University of La Verne at 3:45 p.m. (PDT).
