Willamette Men's Golf Finishes in Fourth Place at UPS Invitational
(MEN'S GOLF) FIRCREST, WASH. -- The Willamette University men's golf team took fourth place with a score of 645 at the University of Puget Sound Invitational, held at Fircrest Golf Club on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9. Willamette finished the event just four strokes behind Puget Sound, which concluded the 36-hole tournament in third place.
Pacific Lutheran University won the tournament with a team score of 620. Linfield College took second place at 624. Medalist honors were shared by Linfield's Kyle Henderson and PLU's Chris Packard, both at 149. Henderson shot 77-72, while Packard carded 73-79. Ben Bryant (So., Albany, OR/West Albany) of Willamette achieved a third place finish with a two-day total of 151 (74-77).
The Bearcats return to action with the Willamette Invational on Monday, Mar.19, starting at 9 a.m. (PDT) at Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Ore. The tournament will feature 36-holes, all played on the same day.
