SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University head rowing coach Susan Parkman has been nominated for the 2007 Northwest Rowing Coach of the Year Award. Nominations were made by the Board of Directors of the Northwest Rowing Council.
Parkman was one of six coaches nominated for the award. Joining Parkman were Bob Ernst from the University of Washington, along with four rowing club coaches: Melissa Hayes of the Lake Washington Rowing Club, Carlos Dinares from the Pocock High Performance Team and RowSmarter, and Mike Reid and Dave Roseberry from Orcas Island Rowing. This fall, she coached the women's varsity 4+ to a fifth place finish at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass.
