Former WU Runner Symmonds is Second in 800 Meters at Indoor Nationals
BOSTON, MASS. - Former Willamette University track and field star Nick Symmonds ('06, Boise, ID/Bishop Kelly HS) finished second on Sunday, Feb. 24 in the 800-meter run at in the USA Track and Field Indoor National Championships.
Symmonds completed the race in 1:46.96 and was just one one-hundredth of a second behind Khadevis Robinson, who won the event in 1:46.95.
Symmonds won the USA Track and Field indoor title in the 800-meter run last year. He won a total of seven NCAA Division III outdoor track and field national championships in the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run while competing for Willamette. He advanced to the semifinal heats at the World Championships in Osaka, Japan, last year.
