Willamette Enters National Rankings
SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's varsity eight is ranked 20th in the nation based on points in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA)/U.S. Rowing Poll for NCAA Division III, released on Wednesday, April 2. Trinity College (Conn.) is ranked #1 in Division III.
Willamette was listed among others receiving votes in the Top 15 Poll. The points received by each team were included with the rankings. Based on those point totals in the poll, Willamette is currently 20th in Division III.
WU was one of four teams from the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference to earn a ranking this week. The University of Puget Sound was ranked sixth. Following WU in the point standings were Pacific Lutheran University, ranked 21st, and Lewis & Clark College, ranked 23rd.
Trinity led the poll with 194 points, while Williams College (Mass.) was second with 192 and Bates College (Maine) was third at 153. Ithaca College (N.Y.) was fourth at 160 and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (Conn.) was fifth with 152 points.
