Coffman, Castillo Selected NWC Student-Athletes of the Week
SALEM, ORE. -- Senior Maddie Coffman (Boise, ID/Boise HS) and freshman Leo Castillo (Parkdale, OR/Hood River Valley HS) have been named Northwest Conference Student-Athletes of the Week based on their performances this past weekend.
Coffman won the women's individual title at the Willamette Grass Course Meet. She completed the 5k run in 18:04.00 to win by 17.07 seconds. Her performance helped the Bearcat Women to a second place finish in the team standings.
Castillo took second place in the first race of his collegiate career. His time of 22:46.06 was the best by a Division III runner at the Willamette Grass Course Meet. He finished just 9.56 seconds behind the winner, Chris Reed of Western Oregon University. Castillo led a 2-4-5-8-11 finish for the Bearcats, who won the men's team title by nine points over Western Oregon.Willamette will host the Charles Bowles Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Ore. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (PDT).

Maddie Coffman won the women's race at the Willamette Grass Course Meet.

Leo Castill finished second in the men's race at the Willamette Grass Course Meet.
