Bearcats to Host Head of the Willamette Regatta
SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University rowing teams are hosting Lewis & Clark College in the Head of the Willamette Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 4. Action on the Willamette River in downtown Salem will get underway at 9:15 a.m. (PDT) with the women's varsity 8+. The final race, the men's 8+ exhibition race involving Willamette team members, is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. A meeting for coaches, coxswains and volunteers is set for 8 a.m. in Wallace Marine Park.
Willamette and Lewis & Clark are significant rowing rivals. The are members of the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference and the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association. The women's teams compete for NCAA Division III championship berths from the West Region.

WU hosts the Head of the Willamette Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 4.
