Pacific Defeats Willamette in Men's Golf
FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Pacific University defeated Willamette University in, men’s golf action on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Quail Valley Country Club. Pacific complied 2.5 points, while Willamette was only able to capture .5 point.
In Match #1, Ben Byrant (Sr., Albany, OR/West Albany HS) of Willamette was defeated by Tim Andrew from Pacific.
In Match #2, Taylor McKenzie (Hermiston, OR/Hermiston HS) and Tyler Robinson (Salem, OR/Umpqua Valley Christian School) from WU fell to the Pacific duo of Sean Hamer and Ryan Beason.
Match #3 featured Willamette’s Sam Church (San Carlos, CA/Sequoia HS) and Kevin Burfeind (Kalispell, MT/Flathead HS) against Pacific’s J.T. Compher and Alex Ferber. The Bearcats were able to come away with a tie in the match and earn their one-half point.
Next up for the Bearcats is the Northwest Conference Fall Classic in Kennewick, Wash., at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19. Tee time is set for 1:30 p.m. (PDT) on Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
