Willamette Moves Up to #16 in D3Football.com Top 25
SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University football team, currently 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Northwest Conference, moved up three spots in this week's D3Football.com Top 25 to take over the #16 position. Willamette defeated Pacific Lutheran University, 45-18, in Puyallup, Wash., on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Mount Union College (Ohio), 6-0, kept the #1 spot in the poll and held 21 of 25 first place votes. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, also 6-0, received four first place votes and remained #2. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), 6-0, retained the #3 ranking.
Willamette is one of 17 undefeated teams in this week's poll. The Bearcats are averaging 42.0 points per game and allowing just 16.0 points per contest. WU will take on arch rival Linfield College, 4-1 and ranked #23, on Saturday, Oct. 25 in McMinnville, Ore. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. (PDT).
