George Fox Defeats Bearcats in Four Sets

NEWBERG, ORE. -- George Fox University received 12 kills and a .320 hitting percentage from Natalie Pickett, as the Bruins defeated the Bearcats of Willamette University, 3-1, in the season finale for both teams on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Bruins won 25-20, 25-21, 13-25, 25-19. GFU ended the year at 12-14 overall, 6-10 in the Northwest Conference, while WU concluded the season at 6-20 overall, 4-12 in the NWC.

Jessica McGraw (Jr., OH, Gaston, OR/Yamhill Carlton HS/Corban College) was Willamette's top offensive player. She registered 17 kills and led all players on both teams with 74 total attacks. She also achieved 19 digs.

Christine Dion (Sr., S, San Jose, CA/Presentation HS/University of Portland) led WU with 23 digs and 32 assists. Jessica Durham (Sr., OH, Medford, OR/North Medford HS) provided the 'Cats with eight kills and 11 digs. Kelley Lindstrom also earned eight kills.

Pickett's 12 kills paced the UPS attack. Jennifer Panico and Sarah Crossfield each contributed eight kills for the Loggers. Jenna Dohren topped all players with 28 digs for UPS, while Pancio added 27 digs and Ashley Sheller had 23.
