Vote for Glen Fowles for NCAA Division III Coordinator Coach of the Year

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University football offensive coordinator Glen Fowles is one of four finalists for the FootballScoop.com NCAA Division III Coordinator Coach of the Year Award. Fans can vote for Fowles on-line until Friday, Dec. 5. A panel of former coaches and players will ultimately review the finalists, consider the fan voting, then determine the winning coordinator.

Fowles is joined by John David Caffey, offensive coordinator at Millsaps College (Miss.), Luke Cutkomp, defensive coordinator at Aurora University (Ill.), and Jake Gilbert, defensive coordinator at Wabash College (Ohio) as finalists for the award. The winner will be announced on Dec. 7.

Fowles has guided the Willamette offense to a very successful season. The Bearcats have scored 50 touchdowns on offense, including 36 rushing touchdowns and 14 touchdowns through the air. After adding points scored by the special teams and defense, Willamette is averaging 42.3 points per game.

The WU offense has rushed for 254.5 yards per game and is averaging 5.9 yards per carry. In the passing game, the 'Cats have completed 90 of 154 passes (58.4%) for 1,440 yards. Willamette has gained 16.0 yards per completion. WU has thrown just two interceptions and the offensive line has limited opponents to seven quarterback sacks.

Willamette, which won the Northwest Conference title (6-0), is 10-0 on the season and will host Occidental College (Calif.), 9-0, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Game time at McCulloch Stadium is set for 12 p.m. (PST).
