Willamette Men's Basketball Defeats Alumni, 106-74

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's basketball team defeated the Willamette Alumni, 106-74, in an exhibition game at Cone Field House on Saturday, Nov. 15. Taylor Mounts (Fr., Post, Kailua, HI/Iolani School) led the Bearcats with 22 points, while Tain Cantrell (Sr., Post, Beaverton, OR/Westview HS) added 14 points and 15 rebounds.

WU will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 21 against the College of Idaho at the Duane Wolfe Memorial Golden Rule Shootout in Caldwell, Idaho. The tournament will continue on Saturday, Nov. 22, with Willamette taking on Eastern Oregon University.

Overall, the Bearcats will play their first six games away from home. The first regular season game at Cone Field House is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 12 against Corban College.

The Alumni Team was led by Harold Sublett '05 and by Brian Newton '02, as each tallied nine points. C.J. Stuvland '07 finished with eight points for the Alums.
