Bearcats are Ranked #12 in NCAA Division III Poll Released by the NFCA

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University is ranked #12 in this week’s NCAA Division III Poll released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The Bearcats are 2-0 in regular season games and also have earned two exhibition wins. Willamette was ranked #23 in the NCAA Preseason Poll and moved up 11 spots to claim the new ranking.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is ranked #1. UWW received five of eight first place votes and 197 points in the poll. Wisconsin-Eau Claire holds the #2 ranking with three first place votes and 189 points. The two Wisconsin teams have not yet started their season. Louisiana College, 6-0, and the University of Texas-Tyler, 4-0, are tied for third in the poll with 181 points.

Willamette will host a Northwest Conference four-game series with Pacific University this weekend. On Saturday, March 7, the Bearcats and the Boxers will play a doubleheader at the WU Softball Field, starting at 12 p.m. (PST). The teams will be the final two games of the series on Sunday, March 8, with first pitch set for 12 p.m. (PDT).
