SALEM, ORE. -- The Governor's Cup Regatta scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Wash., has been canceled due to anticipated high winds. The event, a head-to-head match-up between Willamette University and Lewis & Clark College, will be rescheduled later this month for March 25 or 26 at Vancouver Lake.

Instead of rowing in the regatta this weekend, Willamette's rowing teams will hold an Open House and intrasquad exhibition races on Saturday, March 14 on the Willamette River in Salem, Ore. The river is expected to be less impacted by wind than Vancouver Lake.

The Open House and exhibition races are scheduled to last from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. (PDT). All of the races will cover 2,000 meters and will finish near the Willamette Queen and Riverside Park in Salem.
