Ueno Leads Logger Invitational after First Round with an 83
TACOMA, WASH. -- Whitney Ueno (Sr., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) of Willamette University is at the top of the leader board after the first day of the Logger Invitational, hosted by the University of Puget Sound at the Fircrest Golf Club on Thursday, March 5. Ueno shot an 83 for a three-stroke lead over Brynn Hurdus of Linfield College and Sarah Bicker of Puget Shoot, who were tied for second at 86.
The University of Puget Sound held first place in the team standings with a score of 363. Linfield finished the round just three strokes behind the Loggers at 366.
Ueno, Hurdus and Bickler were three of the four golfers who broke the 90-mark. Natalia Nakamine of Puget Sound registered an 89 and was in four place when the round ended.
Overall results from the first day were not immediately available. They will be posted later.
The Logger Invitational is scheduled to conclude on Friday, March 6 with one more round on the Fircrest course.
