Bearcats at Portland State Delayed by Weather, Game will Start at 10:30 p.m.

PORTLAND, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's basketball game at Portland State University has been delayed due to weather conditions. The Bearcats and the Vikings will now tip-off at approximately 10:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the PSU women's basketball game against Oregon State University.

Both games were scheduled for earlier in the evening (men at 5:05 p.m., women at 7:15 p.m.), but Willamette was delayed in traffic on I-5 and the Oregon State women's team was unable to arrive from its hotel in downtown Portland.

The women's game got underway at about 8:15 p.m. After the women's game ends, Willamette and PSU will warm-up for the men's game.

Accidents on I-5 kept travel at a crawl for much of the final 20 miles as Willamette headed toward the PSU campus. The Bearcats, traveling in a chartered bus, were stopped in traffic for about an hour and half between Exit 293 and Exit 294.

Willamette left Salem at about 2:30 p.m. The team arrived safely and without incident 5 hours and 45 minutes later after completing the normally 45-minute trip. The Bearcats are waiting at the arena for the conclusion of the women's game.
