Women's Golf Wraps Up Action at the Pacific Invitational

BANKS, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's golf team completed the second day of action at the Pacific Invitational at the Quail Valley Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 19. Haylee Chung (So., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) was the top finisher for Willamette with a score of 186 (89-97).

Whitworth University won the invitational in the team standings with a score of 676, five strokes in front of second place Linfield College at 681. Whitman College performed well on the second day to grab third place at 698 and Pacific University finished fourth at 720. Willamette earned a fifth place finish at 807 (400-407). Corban University competed with an incomplete team and did not qualify for the team standings.

Chung completed the 36-hole event tied for 19 place. Sophomore Serena Cualoping (Manila, Philippines/International School) of Willamette captured 25th place with a score of 198 (92-106).

Erin Barclay (Sr., Snohomish, WA/Bothell HS) finished in 26th place with a score of 199 (103-96) for the Bearcats. Jessica D'amato (Fr., Bellevue, WA) rounded out the scoring for the Bearcats with a score of 224 (116-108), as she placed 27th.

The women's golf team will compete again on Friday, Oct. 1 when the Bearcats host the Willamette Valley Championship at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Ore. Tee times are set to begin at 1 p.m. (PDT).
