Women's Golf Finishes 7th at NWC Fall Classic
BEND, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Northwest Conference Fall Classic on Sunday, Oct. 24 in Bend, Ore. George Fox University finished first in the team standings with a score of 659 (328-331).
Sarah Bicker of the University of Puget Sound finished first in the individual standings with a score of 157 (78-79). Bicker was the only player to shoot two rounds of sub 80 scores.
Emily Guthrie from Whitworth University finished in second place after carding a 159 (77-82). Brianna Nap completed the course with a two-day score of 161 (81-80) to finish in third place.
Willamette's Erin Barclay (Sr., Snohomish, WA/Bothell HS) moved up four positions to finish 30th overall. Barclay was Willamette's top finisher after shooting a 193 (95-98).
Haylee Chung (So., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) finished just one spot behind Barclay at 31st. Chung shot a 194 (98-96).
George Fox trailed by Whitworth by eight strokes after the first day of action but easily made up that ground on Sunday and finished eight strokes ahead of the Pirates. Whitworth earned a team score of 667 (320-347).
Linfield College finished in third place with a two-day score of 693 (329-364). Whitman College and Puget Sound finished in fourth and fifth place. The Missionaries tallied a score of 698 (348-350). The Loggers carded a score of 720 (348-372).
The Lutes of Pacific Lutheran University earned sixth place with a score of 766 (383-383). The Bearcats grabbed the seventh spot after carding a 832 (411-421).
Lewis & Clark College competed with an incomplete team and did not qualify for the team standings. Pacific University, which was in sixth place after the first day, did not compete on Sunday and did not have a complete team score.
