Wins Decathlon at Linfield Multi-Events

SALEM, ORE. --- Willamette University decathlete Evin Colignon (Sr., Poulsbo, WA/Charles Wright Academy) has been chosen Northwest Conference Men's Field Student Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Linfield Multi-Events on March 21-22.

Colignon won the decathlon competition at Linfield with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying score of 6,207 points. He won five of the 10 events, with the top results in the long jump, shot put, 110-meter hurdles, discus throw and javelin throw.

In the long jump, Colignon registered a personal record distance of 20'10.50". He won the shot put with a throw of 43'9.75" and placed first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.41 seconds. His winning performance in the discus covered 117'8", while his top throw in the javelin went 157'10".

Colignon competed at the NCAA Championships in 2010. He placed 13th overall with 6,126 points. He earned a career-best score of 6,472 points at the 2010 Northwest Conference Multi-Event Championships.
