Bearcats Open vs. Montreat at Cone Field House on Thanksgiving Day

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University Bearcats and the Corban University Warriors will co-host the 2011 Capital City/Bruce Henderson Memorial Holiday Tournament from Thursday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Nov. 26. The eight-team tournament will included two games at Willamette and two games at Corban on Thanksgiving Day, plus four games at Corban on Friday and four games hosted by the Warriors on Saturday.

During the two games hosted by the Bearcats on Thursday, Live Stats will be available on the Willamette Athletics Website, allowing fans to follow the progress of the game as well as statistics. Please note that the games will not be webcast. Games played at Corban on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, will have Live Stats available on the Corban Athletics Website.

Participating teams are Willamette, Corban, College of St. Mary (Neb.), Johnson and Wales University (Colo)., Menlo College (Calif.), Montreat College (N.C), Vanguard University (Calif.) and Northwest Christian University (Ore.),

The schedule for the first round on Thanksgiving Day:
10 a.m. (at Willamette) - Vanguard vs. Northwest Christian
12 p.m. (at Willamette) - Willamette vs. Montreat
6 p.m. (at Corban) - College of St. Mary vs. Menlo
8 p.m. (at Corban) - Corban vs. Johnson and Wales

The schedule for the second round on Friday, Nov. 25:
1 p.m. (at Corban) - Loser Gm. 1 vs. Loser Gm. 2
3 p.m. (at Corban) - Loser Gm. 3 vs. Loser Gm. 4
5 p.m. (at Corban) - Winner Gm. 1 vs. Winner Gm. 2
7 p.m. (at Corban) - Winner Gm. 3 vs. Winner Gm. 4

The schedule for the third round on Saturday, Nov. 26:
12 p.m. (at Corban) - 7th/8th Place Game
2 p.m. (at Corban) - 5th/6th Place Game
4 p.m. (at Corban) - 3rd/4th Place Game
6 p.m. (at Corban) - Championship Game

Willamette enters the tournament with an 0-1 record on the season, following a 70-65 loss to Concordia University (Ore.) in the season opener on Nov. 18. MacKenzie Lamson (So., Wing, Portland, OR/Lincoln HS) led Willamette with 17 points on 7 of 16 field goals and 2 for 2 shooting at the free throw line.

Julie Brand (Fr., Wing, Kaneohe, HI/Punahou School) and Alexa Beeson (So., Wing, Portland, OR/Lincoln HS) added 10 points each for the Bearcats against Concordia. Maya McFaddin (Sr., Wing, McMinnville, OR/McMinnville HS) provided a team-high nine rebounds, while Kaileigh Westermann (Sr., Forward, Belfair, WA/South Kitsap HS) earned eight rebounds.
