Freeby Receives NWC Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week Honor
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University runner Michaela Freeby (Fr., Milwaukie, OR/Rex Putnam HS) has been chosen Northwest Conference Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week as a result of her efforts at the Lane Preview on Saturday, March 10.
Freeby placed second in two events during the meet. She finished second in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.54 and achieved second place in the 1,500-meter run in 4:46.01. Freeby led a 2-3-4 finish for the Bearcats in the 800, with Theresa Edwards (Jr., Lake Tapps, WA/Bonney Lake HS) earning second place in 2:22.05 and Kaitlin Greene (Sr., Pullman, WA/Pullman HS) taking third place at 2:23.23.
The Bearcats will be on the Charles Bowles Track for a dual meet with crosstown rival Corban University on Thursday, March 15. Start time for the meet is 3:45 p.m. (PDT).

Michaela Freeby placed second in the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run at the Lane Preview.
