Willamette Set to Open Football Season at Hardin-Simmons

Bearcats Take on Cowboys at 4 p.m. Pacific Time

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University football team begins the 2012 season this afternoon when the Bearcats take on Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Game time is set for 6 p.m. CDT/4 p.m. PDT.

Hardin-Simmons was 6-4 last season, including a 30-24 win over the Bearcats at McCulloch Stadium. Willamette finished the year at 4-6 after playing a very challenging schedule that included a game against NCAA Division I FCS opponent Portland State University. Hardin-Simmons and Willamette compete in NCAA Division III.
