Softball Doubleheader between Willamette and George Fox is Postponed

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University's softball doubleheader scheduled for Sunday, March 2 against George Fox University at the WU Softball Field has been postponed due to heavy rain in the Salem area. The Northwest Conference games will be rescheduled, but no makeup date has been determined.

Willamette split a doubleheader at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., on Saturday. The Bearcats won the first game 12-3 on the run rule in six innings, and the Boxers took the second game, 8-6.

The next doubleheader on Willamette's schedule is on Saturday, March 8, when the Bearcats will host Pacific Lutheran University at the WU Softball Field. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. (PST). Willamette is slated to play at home as well on Sunday, March 9 against the University of Puget Sound, starting at 12 p.m.

Heather Winslow leads the Bearcats with a .579 batting average and a .692 on-base percentage.
