Nelson Larson is in his second year as the head coach of men's soccer at Willamette University. He is in his fourth year on the WU coaching staff, after serving as assistant men's soccer coach during his first two seasons at WU. Larson is also the Director of Youth Programs at Portland City United Soccer Club, where he is a staff coach. Larson is entering his fourth year as a staff coach for the Oregon Olympic Development Program. He has earned the USSF National "B" License and the NSCAA National License.

As a player, Larson was a three-time All-Conference defender while at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb. He competed for the Broncos in the NAIA and graduated in 2000 with a degree in Marketing. At the end of his collegiate career, he played in England for Harlow Hill FC and Newtown Villa FC. Later, he served as a graduate assistant coach with the Hasting's women's team. He also worked as an assistant coach for Lewis & Clark College in 2003, before joining the Bearcat coaching staff in 2004. Larson was named head coach in May 2005. He is excited about the challenge of building the WU team with skilled, hard-working players, who can compete in the Northwest Conference.
