Christopher Sabato returns for his sixth year to the Bearcat staff as an assistant coach for the cross country and track & field teams. Sabato works with the cross country team in the fall and coaches the pole vaulters in the spring.
He came to Willamette from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. where he spent two years coaching the sprints and jumps. Sabato coached several All-Conference athletes and a handful of NCAA Division III national qualifiers.
Prior to his time at Rhodes College, Sabato attended Alfred University in Alfred, NY, graduating in 2002 with a degree in electrical engineering. During his collegiate track & field career, Sabato competed in the sprints, the long jump and the pole vault. He was a three-time All-State pole vaulter in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference.
Along with his coaching duties, Sabato is the web master for the Willamette athletics web site. He provides graphic designs used in some of the media guides produced by the Athletics Department. Sabato is the primary photographer for the track and cross country programs and ocasionally shoots other sports as well.
