The campus and Salem communities are invited to the university's 19th annual Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols. Based on the service broadcast annually by the BBC from Kings College Chapel at Cambridge University, the worship service includes reading of traditional scripture passages from the Old and New Testaments by representatives of various parts of the campus community - the Lessons - and choral and congregational singing - the Carols.

An offering is taken to benefit the work of the Marion-Polk Food Share.

The University Convocation series is arranged by the Office of the Chaplain and the College of Liberal Arts course "Convo: Campus/Community/Cosmos" and is funded by the Educational Programs Committee.
