The Campaign for Willamette

Dear Friends,

Steven Wynne M. Lee Pelton

The goal is $125 million. We have raised $118 million. With $7 million needed to end The Campaign for Willamette, we are poised to close this chapter on Willamette's largest and most ambitious fund-raising effort.

With 25,000 alumni on hand to support this worthy endeavor, we will not only reach the goal, but we have already exceeded two individual goals established early on in the campaign. We had hoped to raise $22 million for facilities; to date we have raised $32 million. We exceeded our $10 million target for annual giving. We have also raised $48 million for academic excellence, which is 83 percent of the goal.

We have raised a great deal of support; we have also raised a great deal of dust. Ford Hall, the new 42,000 square foot academic building set to open next fall, has been under construction since May. Phase I of the Kresge Theatre upgrade will be finished this fall. The Carnegie Building, home of the new Oregon Civic Justice Center is now open after an extensive remodel.

None of these achievements would be possible without the ongoing support of alumni and friends. On behalf of this distinguished university, thank you all for your generosity and for your commitment to Willamette University.
