Willamette University Center for Asian Studies Research Opportunities: Faculty Development and Research Awards

Faculty Research Awards

The Center encourages applications from members of the Willamette University faculty for Faculty Research Awards of up to $4000 with a maximum of $1500 for honorarium. The goal of these awards is to provide our faculty significant financial support for new scholarly research leading to (1) a presentation on campus or at annual conference, and; (2) the writing, revision, and submission of a manuscript to an academic journal or publisher. Funds can be used to support research costs and/or stipend though the stipend portion is limited to $1500 as stated above. We particularly encourage proposals from individuals who are in the process of completing an unfinished project and who need additional time and funds to bring the project to completion and publication/presentation. Upon publication, the author can be the recipient of a publication award as well.

Applicants for these Research Awards may be:
1) Starting a project and giving a presentation on campus or at annual conference
2) Writing and revising a manuscript for submission to a journal or publisher
3) Receiving a recognition award for successfully publishing scholarly research in a peer-reviewed venue.
