Tell Qarqur Archaeological Field School, SyriaJessa supervised a 5x10 meter trench that was part of the excavations of the Late Roman church (300-650 AD). Jessa helped clarify the western boundaries of the church complex through the use of her skills in both the field and the lab. Field trips to various museums and archaeological sites around Syria provided her additional learning experiences.

Carpathian Ancient Resource and Technology Project, Piatra Tomii, RomaniaAndrew aided in the excavation of three trenches that were believed to have cultural material. As it turned out, the trenches had no such artifacts, but Andrew still benefited from the experience in a multitude of ways. He learned about the processes, methods, and difficulties of archaeology, and he got to experience Romanian culture.

Archaeology Major
Maya Archaeology at Minanha, BelizePatrick helped excavate Minanha, a Mayan site in the lowlands of Belize. He was involved in unearthing the royal ballcourt, where numerous artifacts were found, including a human burial site. Patrick also got to explore other nearby sites to further develop his knowledge of ancient Mayan culture.

Maya Research Project in Blue Creek, BelizeAmy participated in the excavation of a ballcourt, temple, residential structure, and burial on a hilltop in the jungle. The jungle, teeming with wildlife, provided Amy and her fellow excavators an amazing backdrop for their work.
