Center for Governance and Public Policy Research

Transforming existing states into preferred ones.

One of Willamette University’s five centers of excellence, the Center for Governance and Public Policy Research is a joint program of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Law. The center performs high-quality, policy-relevant research about organizational governance and transformation issues, concentrating on the financial components.

We provide unbiased, nonpartisan, evidence-based information directly relevant to the real public policy problems facing the region and the nation. Some of our ongoing projects include working with Marion and Polk counties to assess the health of our neighborhoods and cities, and contributing to the Oregon Economics Blog, which seeks comments on economics issues of importance to the state of Oregon.

The center offers internship opportunities throughout Oregon and Washington, D.C. It publishes reports in leading scholarly journals, and it regularly sponsors conferences, seminars and workshops.
