Transfer Students

Transfer students are invaluable to our community — we value their insight and experiences. Our professors appreciate the new and unique perspectives transfer students add to their classrooms.

If you are a high school graduate and you have, or will receive, college-level credit from an accredited institution as a degree- or non-degree seeking student, then you quality as a transfer student. However, if you will graduate from high school this year and are currently dually enrolled in an early start program with your high school and a partnering college, please apply as a first-year student.

Steps to apply:

1. Common Application
Willamette is a Common Application-only institution. We use the Common Application because it collects a rich trove of academic and extracurricular information on potential Bearcats and makes the process as easy as possible for our applicants.

2. Official College Transcript
Please refer to the Common Application instructions for submitting college transcripts. We need a transcript from each institution you have attended.

3. Transfer College Report
Please refer to the Common Application instructions for submitting the Transfer College Report.

4. Official High School Transcript or GED Scores
We require these from all applicants, whether they are 17 or 71.

5. SAT I or ACT Scores
Send your official scores from either the SAT I or the ACT. If you take the SAT I more than once, the Admission Committee will review your highest scores from each section. Your best composite ACT score from a single sitting will be considered.
Note: Applicants who have graduated from high school within 2 years of their desired start term at Willamette will be required to submit SAT / ACT test scores.

Willamette University has a $50 application fee.* Submit your payment on the Common Application website.

Once all of your credentials are received, the Admission Committee will review your application for admission.

We protect the privacy of the information you share with us through the application process. Read about our commitment to your privacy.

*Willamette University application fee waiver. The $50 application fee may be waived in the following circumstances:

  1. Alumni endorsed applications
  2. Partner institutions
  3. Designated Community Based Organizations
