About your Admission Counselor
Favorite Things about Willamette:
I’ve enjoyed all of my interactions with the students, faculty and administrators. Having worked at other colleges, I realize there is something truly special about Willamette that is second to none.
Favorite Subject in College:
I loved all of my communication courses. My favorite class was a television production course where we produced a show that was nominated for a Daytime Emmy.
Coke or Pepsi:
Coffee! I don’t drink soda, but I live a highly caffeinated lifestyle.
Favorite thing about Salem:
I love Archive Coffee and Bar downtown. I haven’t had a bad beverage or experience there. It’s amazing!
Favorite Musical Performer/Band/Composer:
Music plays such an integral part of my life so this is a tough one. I can listen to pretty much everything except for country, but I would say my favorites right now are Sharon Jones, Ta-Ku, Bonobo and The Roots.
Book you Would Read Again:
I just read “The Secret to Success” by Eric Thomas for the second time. I heard him speak a few years ago and love his positive energy and attitude.
Favorite Quote (and by whom):
I find inspiration from a number of quotes. There is one in particular from the book “A Return to Love” by Marianne Williamson, but has been attributed to Nelson Mandela’s 1994 inaugural speech. It’s long, but one part I love is “...Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
