BA/MBA Combined Degree

Program Advice
The first step in determining a student's eligibility to apply to the BA/MBA is decided by the student's CLA major advisor and/or department. Start the planning process early!

  • Contact your CLA academic advisor and plan your courses to meet the BA/MBA credit and course requirements of your major.
  • Contact the Atkinson School Admission office with your questions.
  • You will find it helpful to have completed at least one course in mathematics, one course in economics, and a course in psychology or sociology
  • Build a background of leadership and experience in organizations through internships, campus/community activities, part-time work, etc.
  • Complete the GMAT or General GRE exam by the end of March of the junior year. Completing the exam by March will provide time to retake the exam if necessary.
  • Complete the application process by May 1st of the Junior year.
  • Recognize the BA/MBA is a challenging and demanding program designed for highly motivated students who have well focused career interests in management.
As a liberal arts student who excelled in the humanities but who had never taken a business or management course before entering Atkinson, I hoped that I would learn to become an effective manager in the not-for-profit sector. The goal was fulfilled along with many others that I never imagined. – Brandy O’Bannon, BA’98, MBA’00, development coordinator, Blanchet High School
